Collaborating with Tendril was nothing short of extraordinary. This project, created for the state’s shingles vaccination initiative, brought together one of the most impressive collectives of designers and 3D artists I’ve ever had the privilege to work with.

My role was to breathe life into the typography—to give the words presence, emotion, and a sense of movement. Though the treatment was delicate, we managed to weave in a subtle narrative thread, infusing each frame with tone and intention. The result was typography that didn't just inform, but felt.

The typography for this project needed to walk a razor’s edge—cinematic in its delicacy, yet charged with the sharp, aggressive energy of shingles itself. It was a strange brief, asking type to both soothe and sting.

We leaned into contrast: subtle movements punctuated by sudden shifts, elegant forms that carried an undercurrent of discomfort. The goal was to reflect the virus’s dual nature—quiet and lingering, then jarringly present.

Collaborating with Tendril’s phenomenal team of designers and 3D artists was a masterclass in visual storytelling. Together, we shaped type that didn’t just support the message—it embodied it.
