An Introduction

Thank you for the chance to create and collaborate with you all. My name is Peiter Hergert, a designer and director rooted in the misty landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, USA. My creative journey began in the vibrant pulse of early-2000s Los Angeles, where I graduated from design school and stepped into the fast-paced worlds of television and interactive design. Those formative years immersed me in the production pipeline, offering the privilege of crafting for brands like Casio, James Bond, Sony, and the Olympics Organization. It was a crash course in design, animation, and direction—a foundation for what would come next.

After a decade of dedication to the industry, I was offered an opportunity that reshaped my path: leading the formation of a motion department at Wieden+Kennedy's iconic Portland office. Building and guiding a team of 14 designers, animators, and visual effects artists was both a challenge and a revelation. We tackled everything from pre-production and prototyping to design, animation, and post-production for brands like Nike, Coke, Dodge, Old Spice, Delta, and EA. Our work spanned mediums—broadcast, interactive, out-of-home, and mobile—pushing boundaries and redefining possibilities.

After eight years of growth and exploration, I took a leap of faith to chart my own course. Freelancing opened doors to collaborations with creative visionaries like GMUNK and Ash Thorp and global brands including Apple, Verizon, BMW, Microsoft, Sonos, and Disney. My roles shift between directing, designing, and animating in both 2D and 3D, adapting to diverse styles and storytelling demands.

Beyond design, I embrace digital artistry, crafting commissioned works for brands and curated large-scale events. Recent creations have found their home with Microsoft, Ahead, and Artechouse, delivering high-impact visuals for audiences on grand stages.

Through every chapter, my goal remains the same: to tell meaningful stories through bold, evocative design. It’s a joy to bring my perspective and skills to this journey with you.
