Speaker Title Sequence

FITC is a world-renowned conference that brings together top design and technology professionals from around the globe. As a designer and director, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to their 2016 Amsterdam conference. Working with the incredible John Black of CypherAudio, I had the chance to create a speaker title sequence, a teaser, and various print and online supplemental content. It was an inspiring and challenging project, and I'm grateful to have had the chance to collaborate with such a talented team and contribute to an event that pushes attendees to reach for greatness.

THE STORY

This project was born out of a desire to challenge myself and learn new skills, all inspired by the insights of author David Bayles in his book Art and Fear: Observations on the Perils (and Rewards) of Artmaking. As an artist, I often struggle with the emotions and self-doubt that can accompany the creative process, and I wanted to explore these common experiences through my work.

With that in mind, I set out to create a visual narrative about a young artist who is tasked with creating her most ambitious work yet. We follow her on a journey of self-discovery and exploration as she grapples with the many phases of creating art - from curiosity and excitement to anxiety and fear. Through this project, I was able to tap into my own emotions and use them as a driving force for the deliverables. It was a challenging but rewarding process, and I'm proud of the result.
